BACKGROUND

​

Growing up on a mushroom farm near the town of Toowoomba in regional queensland, Gary started writing songs from an early age before teaching himself guitar. His influence come from the wide variety of music in the family music collection, from classical to decades of pop and rock,  in addition to pop and indie radio.

With only a few sets early in his early years, his focus was on writing and home recording, many of these songs were first recorded while working in Tonga as a volunteer, which were shelved for a number of years. Most of his songs are written as an observer of life, with some closer to home.

He is currently working his way through his book of songs, on the way to a full album release in the coming year. He also makes appearances at venues across Australia, performing intimate acoustic sets.
